“I believe there is a certain level of satisfaction given to the viewer when they can recognize an artist’s work by her painting style. As an artist, it is this notable aspect of creativity and expression from within that is especially gratifying.”
Ronda’s passion for creating art began during her childhood years. Her artistic abilities came natural to her and, as a self-taught artist, she quickly learned the fundamentals of drawing. At the age of 10, Ronda began to experiment with media such as charcoal, pastel, and oil paint, along with various techniques of application. She later became interested in figurative art and found portraiture both challenging and gratifying. Ronda has painted custom portraits professionally for over 15 years and has won several awards for her portrait work.
“Every portrait I paint creates a new challenge for me. When people look at my work, I want them not only to see a likeness of the subject but also recognize an emotion or character of that person. Drawing primarily from reference photos, I find it exciting when a picture captured in time comes to life in a creative portrait.”
Ronda now has combined her art career with her love of traveling. Though she still enjoys portraiture, Ronda’s concentration is now creating paintings of places she has visited or other places of interest around the world.
“The opportunity to paint and share my interpretation of the earth’s wonders and beauty is such an inspiration for me to create art!”
During Ronda’s transition from painting portraits to landmarks, she developed her personal style of painting, expressed with lively brushstrokes and interesting contrasts of light and color.
